Question I need help building up my 86-92 supra

I've admired fast cars my entire life, now it is my time to buy one, but I have limited funds. I'm interested in buying an 86-92 supra and dropping in a new 7m-gte. What upgrades can I make on this vehicle to increase it's performance? Is a Greddy turbo a good idea? Help me if you can, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot

you could first do the fundamentals....downpipe...exhaust...and intake...those right there will give you gains that will satisfy you for some time...i haven't heard much about the GReddy turbo...cause i'm new at this too...i'm tryin to get my 7M-GTE to start...haha...if you do infact get a supra...make sure it comes with a LSD...cause that's pretty crucial to drag and auto-x....if you plan to attend the events....i'm lookin into doing NOS too...but that sounds crazy....i actually just got my GTE...it was given to me by a family friend....check out my post...its' like right after yours....

boost controller too

I agree with mugen on the downpipe and stuff, that will give more freeflow air, then if you find a good condition supra that doesn't need a rebuild, add a boost controller and aftermarket boost guage, that will help alot.

Do not get the GReddy turbo set up!!! The ct-26 60-1 trim is so much nicer with these mods. just send in your stock ct-26 turbo and have it upgraded to the 60-1 trim! Trust me. GReddy makes wonderful parts but the GReddy turbo is just a waste of money in my opinion!

turbo timer- your turbo will love you for it.
down pipe and full exhaust and eliminate cats if you can- to get that back pressure out.
intake- get more air flowing in. plus it makes the turbo sound louder. what a lovley sound it is.
blow off valve- GReddy type-S in my opinion. sounds great. plus your turbo will love you for that as well.
MHG(metal head gasget) and ARP head bolts- before you turn up the boost. Trust me! Stock head gaskets blow!
Boost Controller- recommend the Profec-B by GReddy. Easy to use and of course you get to turn up the boost. 12psi before you hit fuel cut.
Boost Gauge- shows you acurately how much boost you are running. Stock gauge sucks and is inaccurate as crap!
Oh... and an upgraded performance clutch wouldnt hurt!
After that... comes the Lexus AFM, 550's, MKIV fuel pump, etc. for bigger boosting.
Have fun but be safe!
