Re: ARTA NSX 2005 - Tamiya - 1/24

This is a full set of carbon decals for cockpit. As you may notice the shapes are not ideally cut - I made them a bit overlaping so I don't need tight clearences.

Re: ARTA NSX 2005 - Tamiya - 1/24

Interior decaling is almost finished. I have also drilled hole for gear change shaft. SMS decals are really great. It is very easy to control the process of softing them and they behave in predictable manner. I used Microscale and Gunze softeners with aid of my wife's hair dryier.

That's some nice CF! Looks like you get along with the SMS decals better than me :-) I can handle the Crazy Modeler ones better.

Re: ARTA NSX 2005 - Tamiya - 1/24

Thank you Gents! Pleasure that you like my work.

I have learned to avoid panic if something goes wrong and SMS gives me enaugh time to correct most of the misteakes. Probably that's why I like them. Anyway I will probably try CM to see the difference.

As to CF - I cut all of the decals with great attention to fibre pattern. I tried to lay them in the way to mask/hide seems and additionaly achieve look of real cf.

Short update. All interior carbon is done. Added new gear change shaft (white part). Gear lever dry fitted only.

Looks great Maciek

Why did you put the C/F on upside down?

Re: ARTA NSX 2005 - Tamiya - 1/24

Interior is clearcoated and set aside to dry. In the meantime I have decaled air intake.

I will add PE screws after final clearcoat.

Your CF work is gorgeous, do you coat your decals with smoke or anything to darken them?

Thank you again

I have darken underside only as I used old SMS decals. Interior, side skirts and intake they are all raw CF (SMS 1024). SMS has changed shade of their decals and they are darken.

In my opinion they look spot on without any color modifications.
