flylwsi,

Well said mate.

Like what was mentioned before, higher octane is not necessarily good. It all depends on what your car was tuned for.

In my case, I did not own my car when it was tuned, so I play it on the safe side and run 94. Sometimes I can only get 90, so I adjust by boost controller all the way down to .6. I try not to boost at all, but with 8.5 and aluminium heads there really is no chance for detention. As long as your timing is not to far advanced.

i've seen the same in regards to octane...

one of the dyno shops around here noted that, when tuning miatas at a scca race, they made more power with 89 octane than with 92...
and that's on race modified cars...

keep in mind that cali's 91 octane is pretty crappy though, which is why the question was brought up, as i'm sure an rb motor requires at least 91 or 92...

The uhh 91 octane is do-able but not favored. I just finished picking up my Skyline and had to run 91 all the way from Cali to Missouri...Suck!!

The Supra engine is in the avatar. As soon as I find a scanner around campus that I can borrow I'll put some up.

They are all wheel drive(and even the all wheel drive system is wicked for drag launching) and the engine can hold incredible amounts of boost and push very large horsepower numbers. When I describe the potential to people who don't them I describe it like this...Think of a Supra, then add all wheel drive, then you have a Skyline.

Aside: Tydango, I may be calling upon you sometime soon for some awnsers to some questions I might have. Right now I'm not working on the car but its not because I'm not trying to get in some wrench time.

It wouldn't surprise me if you did.
The car is back at MotoRex right now too, so I haven't had the chance to start working on it like I wanted.
It's a long story and in all reality, I wish I would have gone through you. It would have made my life a lot easier I'm sure.
Anyways, I've still got your number from calling you a while back so as soon as I get my ride back from MotoRex I'll give a ring I'm sure.

i have a question concerning japanese cars in general
if the steering wheel is on the right side of the car, would the shifts be reversed or would they be in the same order as if they were on the left hand side?

i know it's a very newbish question but i prefer asking people who actually drive cars that have the steering wheel on the right hand side...

Clutch Brake and Gas are all in the same order respectivly. The part that screws me up is the damn turn signal/ wiperblades.

Driving on the other side actually makes sense after you get used to it. The problem for me is that when I have to go to the states I am now messed up on which side of the road I will be on. My question to those who have their skylines in the states right now is how easy is it to get used to driving around on the roads?
