Which new car would u buy a SRT-4, WRX sti, Lancer EVO?

Katwoman's got it down, head gaskets tend to go around 60k on the first generation neons, that was a chrysler problem, there is no problem with any chrysler paint. And neons dont suck in any way, especially the srt, if you think it looks girly thats your opinion, and a well driven srt will beat a wrx, and earn anyone the respect it deserves.

As for my opinion, I would take the SRT-4 out of the 3, Its the cheapest, and easily keeps up. Cant wait to get one.

Personally, i'd take an evo 8. Becuse i think they look nicer and they are quick for a stock car. I respect the new Neon SRT-4's, but the older models got to go. I can care less if you have an old model, but if you have an older model and its looking like a rice burner, no, none of that...

if you can't afford an evo, the srt4 is by no means incompetent.

srt-4 does have a stage 2 and stage 3 kit avail, which will make this car real fast! the new wrx sti is 300hp factory and around here, the evo has a very high marked up sticker. bottom line, what will you do with this car? i have seen neons at the track in schools haul ass!

yeah the stage 3 has the SRT-4 at 300hp @ the crank says the guy at dodge.. so really it probably puts down 315 at the wheels because Dodge even underrated the SRT-4's power.. it puts down 223 @ the wheels stock... The stage 2 is for like 275 horsepower if I remember correctly.. so yea.. you could buy an SRT-4, upgrade it, and kill an STI or Evolution for a fraction of the price!

This doesn't seem like an apples to apples comparison. Both the EVO and the the STi cost over $30,000. The SRT is a whole $10,000 less than both of them. For $10,000 you can make an SRT-4 into a very competitive player. Even as a Viper owner, I would consider buying an SRT-4 and tricking it out for the road race track. I would put in some upgrades like a Quaife sequential and differential. You can definitely set up an SRT-4 to harrass Vipers on a tight road course (I'm not joking).

The WRX has a great history, but asking for an additional $8-10,000 more for 50 HP is pretty steep. For $5,000, you can buy a racing crate engine for the WRX that puts out over 360 HP. Aside from this and some upgraded brakes, you've got yourself a player for well under $30,000 they are asking for the STi. JMO.

I have owned Mitsubishi in the past and they perform well. Their biggest problem is cost of parts and maintenance. They are really expensive.

Don't even start with that bullshit. You know what a kid would do if he had $10,000? It would go towards the payment on the neon.

WRX this SRT-4 that. I don't know what the STI is all about but I imagine its a nicer car overall for $10,000 more. But whether anyone likes it or not, that Neon is the best buy for a compact car. Whether it falls under the typical problems previous Neons have been known, thats for the future to tell.
