Good news for people like me who haven't built an Alpine yet. Good old Tamiya have reissued the 'Alpine Blue' spray can. Only this time they've called it 'Light Metallic Blue'. The number is TS-53, or maybe TS-54 can't remember at the moment

Good news. After almost two hours searching in every site containing the word Alpine I was lucky to find some photos of a small metal replica of the 1973 Portugal Rally car.I now have all the information to build this version.
In any case thanks for your help Honoturtle. The photo shows the closest it will be to the commercial version since I will start to apply the competition decals immediately.

I have to say, another cool model is in the final stages before completion. Looks very realistic!

AHH the joy (and the cost)
I am a lucky sod! But I've waited 15+ years to get this one. So far had to replace the rear hub bearings, brake pads and calipers, all new Koni shocks from Holland since they don't make the type the A110 needs here in the States, along with lower bushings for the shocks, the throttle and handbrake cables, re-work the doors (misaligned) and the locks and window mechanisms.
The turn signals, heater and most of the electric don't work and will probably need to be re-wired. I was wondering if the Tamiya 58168 model would that I have in the closet would have been a better project? NNAAAHHHH!!!! Here's another picture! David :frog: |
