Re: Time to buy a new car...opinions!

Good luck getting a supra that isn't overpriced. RX7's leave alot to be desired reliability wise. I think the 300ZX is a great platform that is under utilized. I knew a guy at the track that was running 11's in it. IMO the supra has become so played out that many people don't consider alternative cars. I can't blame you for wanting it though, cause I did at one time. I'll stick with the Evo though.

DEff check this place out, fuck if I had 15k to dump right now I'd have an r32 GTR, or even within the next 2 years maybe I'll find a nice 1jz powered Mk3 Supra.

Re: Time to buy a new car...opinions!

i say supra or rx7 but why in the world did you put a 3000gt SL? they are really nice cars but when it comes to performance they cant compete with those cars stock. why not a VR4? i take that one over all the other cars? and are they really that rare in Canada??

Re: Time to buy a new car...opinions!

Well seeing as he lives in Canada so AWD would be his best pick. So a used WRX might not be a bad choice. I mean he could find a used WRX for a little more then 10grand and with the rest of that cash he could make the WRX scary fast. Same goes for the GSX.

Re: Time to buy a new car...opinions!

lol gsx cant compete.

Rethink that bucko, then come back with a more intelligent answer.

In the meanwhile - www.shepracing.com

maybe it'll answer your "gsx cant compete" statement.

Re: Time to buy a new car...opinions!

If you were to get a supra, you can be able to get the 2nd gen. But you can get an FD3S RX-7 for that price range.

The FD RX-7 R2 was known for its incredibly poor gas mileage...it got like 14-16 mpg on average. A C5 Corvette will give you 18-20 mpg on average use...so you'd be surprised. Same w/ the MKIV Supras....they were known for poor gas mileage.

I'm pretty sure this is correct, and please correct me if I'm wrong. IMO, find a nice 300ZX TT and mod that, because it has very solid potential for a street/track car.

Re: Time to buy a new car...opinions!

lol um first off I never mentioned anything about the quarter mile. Honestly if you were going for str8 line speed then the GT-r would be a good contender. So watch your tongue, Im not trying to come off as being negative at all, Im just being honest. R32's R33's are heavy and over rated its simple as that. If your able to afford one, go ahead more power to you. This is your thread, you all have opinions I have mine. I just believe that for your price range a M3 or a Supra would be the better choice. And by the way when I say "spanked" I meant on the track, not in the quarter mile. Its pointless to go in a str8 line. And Vettes suck ass any way.

Re: Time to buy a new car...opinions!

I'd go with either the 300zxtt (sexy looking, cheap compared to a supra or rx-7, fast, and moddable), or a gsx, (very cheap compared to the other cars you're considering, very fast for fairly cheap). I'm not sure about a good site for the 300zx, but go to www.dsmtuner.com for more info about the gsx. Another possible car is an rx-7 turbo II.

Re: Time to buy a new car...opinions!

heavy and OVER rated?

I'll take Atessa(sp) and an RB26 over a 2jz or m3 anyday. At least I'll be able to drive it when the roads get bad Most people get cars to drive them around, not race them.
