Is that the SMS photoetched dash? I've always wondered how that looked when detailed. Very nice!

I know what you mean about CF templates. I'm just beginning on my D2 CLK and the cockpit is danged near all CF!

I love the vinegary smell of Micro-Set in the morning...smells like modeling ;-)>

Re: SMS + Tamiya GT-one full-view progress

Started detail painting and wiring interior stuffs.

[IMG][/IMG]
In fact i cutted all the relief stuffs out of the floor (battery, unidentified tank, box) to simplify decaling and painting.

[IMG][/IMG]
I'm not happy with the seat, when removing the masking tape i stripped some cf from it (touched up with paint) and i think i added too much flat base onto the paint . I'll probably drybrush it later.

Re: SMS + Tamiya GT-one full-view progress

Uptades:
The frame was clear coated, engine mounted, along with IC's ("DENSO" painted using PE template).

[IMG][/IMG]

Also started on the body. All the ejection marks were sanded with 1000 grit sandpaper. I finished only one mark (center of the nose) with micromesh kit. It works well, but i guess i'll spend a few hours to complete it !

[IMG][/IMG]

The bad new is that i broke the windshield
Do you know where i can contact tamiya from france to get a new one ?

Also can you give me some advice for a nice seat belt kit ? S27, modeler's ? I order to HLJ.

Thanks for looking guys !

Looks really great so far. Clear parts are great. I can't help you with the window.

Rear body part after only 1 1/2 hour. I though i would be a lot harder to get a good result.

Looks great.. Sanding of the injection marks makes a big difference.

Re: SMS + Tamiya GT-one full-view progress

I've drilled all the holes for the rivets on the body and polished it (well, almost, i saw some scratches when i took the pics). It's way nicer without all those spots:

[IMG][/IMG]

I also started to shape the rear brake ducts/intakes.

[IMG][/IMG]

The more i look the ref pics, the more i see errors on the kit . The tooling itself is good for a standard version, but in full-view it become a nightmare ! I swear it's the last one i build.

Since you order often from HLJ, try ordering a new windshield from them.
They have a special replacement parts department.

Good luck.

WOW!
Great job on this build!
Did you have any problems finding reference pictures to work from?
