a proper drift car has to be driving the rear wheels. end of story. it doesn't matter if it's spinning the fronts, too, but it's got to be driving the rears.
Man, imagine the sound of a 5.0 with steel tube headers and straight pipes bouncing off the rev limitier and smoking the tires..mmmm...

Re: What makes this a drift car????

^ I've seen many AWD cars drift, such as the Evo or wrx. AWD cars can handle like a motherfucker

Re: What makes this a drift car????

or...
imagine one of these puppies...

http://vecco.net/turbo_kits.htm

that's my friends company.
he builds gross stuff.
he just made a pair of manifolds for another friends' drop to lx convertible. 5.0 swap, and twin t4's on it. it's gonna be a hell of a street car...

branden's personal ride is an 89 lx 5.0 with t4's on it right now... with that setup (and a properly built 302) it will easily make 900hp.

so imagine the sound of a big mean 5.0 v8, twin turbos spooling, twin blowoffs, and seeing the saleen style wing sliding sideways across a course...

yep. domestic cars can't drift.

Re: What makes this a drift car????

and for the record, no one said awd couldn't drift.

all i said was that a car for drifting should be driving the rear wheels at the least.

Re: What makes this a drift car????

I wasn't saying that you did. The only thing I don't like about a mustain is the Live axel. I personally like independant rear for drifting and auto -x Drag racing sucks ( wheel hop ). But yeah I've got a few five-oh's slideways so ya got my vote on them too.

Re: What makes this a drift car????

drag racing sucks with which axle type?
the live, or the indie?

drag racing thrives on the solid axle, so i hope that you're not going that route...
indie's suck for drag racing in comparison...
