Re: Suzuki Samurai - 1/24 Fujimi

Hey mates,

a litte update from the suspension system and the dash.

Suspension:

I took the LSD system from a donor kit and after cutting & sanding a made it to this. I left only the basis for the the custom suspension system that im gonna build. Here is in the first stage of putting.

Dash

I made the gauges with the o-rings and i made the base for the "GPS" system.

Soon update with the suspension system! Thank you for your time!

The aftermaket suspension that i've ordered, were to small for the project...

And a bonus foto from the custom interior that i'm preparing.

Thank you for your time! Hope you like it so far!

Re: Suzuki Samurai - 1/24 Fujimi

@ MidMazar: you are right about the susp! so...

I have shorten the suspension cause it was way to high and glue it on the differentials. The front suspension on the one side is pressed cause in the diorama, the "Sam" will have stepped on an obstacle (rock or tree...)

Here in the procedure of measuring and center the 2 systems...

And on the Sam...

Then i made the transmission system with the center diff from parts of two donor kits and the actual one...

I still have to build the basis for all the diffs..

Thats for now...Thank you for your time!!

Re: Suzuki Samurai - 1/24 Fujimi

A little update from the rear suspension. I made the springs from wire and some parts from the base that keeps the diff in place.

Then i made the steering system, which was short, so i had to apply it to the size of the monster

And some general

The project needs A LOT of work still! But i think it worths it
Thank you for your time!!!

I personally think the axles are to wide, but hey, it's your Zook.

Re: Suzuki Samurai - 1/24 Fujimi

A small update guys,

I'm approaching the 95% of the suspension system. Needs some more work to be done.

And a general view:

Then i closed the hole of the oil catridge.

I;ve detailed up the disc brakes, by making little holes for the wiring:

Lastly, i've used an old Heller bucket, that i've sanded the moulded harnesses and drilled it out, in order to use a set of Sparcos.

Thank you for your time Hope you like it!

Re: Suzuki Samurai - 1/24 Fujimi

An update:

I used a mix from 2 kits in order to finish the diff system. It needs some more job and it would be fine!

And some general views of the diff system:

Then i've decided to open the drivers door, in order to help me for the scenery of the followig dio. This of course means a lot of detailing in the interior.

Then i made the racing fuel tank, that i've detached from the main kit, used a lilttle weight from a lighter and a pe set:

Thats for now! Thank you for your time!

Re: Suzuki Samurai - 1/24 Fujimi

This bad boy is certainly coming along. There is a guy in town here who has a Samurai that can damn-near go through anything. This reminds me of his.

One thing that I would recommend for accuracy, mount the transfer case sideways and extend driveshafts. Clearance is your friend off road and the way yours drops would scare me out of taking it through anything too rough. Also, skidplates are your friends. A skidplate over the transfer case would be more realistic as that's the last thing you want to break in the middle of nowhere.

But nonetheless, it's definitely coming along great and I can't wait to see it finished.
