Did you have any issue with the white duplicolor primer? For me, the white etches the surface like crazy. I find I have to use the grey to seal the body, then shoot the white. Have you tried airbrushing duplicolor? If you thinks its good from the can, try it with the AB!
Are you talking about the testor enamel paint in the little square jars? I have some of that stuff, but it's old and I can't get the bottle to open, lol.

I haven't had any problems with the Duplicolor primer. It goes on very nice and it's easier to sand than the Tamiya primer. I've only used it on Tamiya kits though, so maybe it can have problems with a kit made from inferior plastics.

I hope to invest in an AB when I move to a bigger place (hopefully in the near future), but I just don't have the space for it right now. Plus my roommate will probably complain about the noise.

Anyway, not really an update, but I've been working on the seats. This is my first attempt at making my own seatbelts, I hope it looks okay. I still need to do the lap belts and then the other seat, lol.

Yep, that's the stuff. Brushed on great.

That's my opinion as well. You forgot a hell of a lot cheaper, and easier to find. Glad you haven't had the issues I had. Keep up the good work!

Re: WIP: Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

Small update:

Finished the seats, painted and decaled some of the bits that goes in the car. Still need to paint and CF the fuel cell. Nothing is glued in yet, I just fitted all the bits in the car to see how it looks like.

I've seen a few builds on here with the "tunnel" running down the middle covered in foil. Is this accurate? I kind of like the foil there, gives it some texture and makes it look interesting... it also covered up a couple of sink marks that I forgot (or was too lazy) to sand out. I know it looks a little sloppy but that's because I just draped it over the "tunnel" loosely because I haven't decided I want that there yet.

I have spring break this week and I will try to get it finished during that time. Let's hope I follow through!

Re: WIP: Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

That foil goes to Subaru cars, I don't remember it on Peugeots.

No, it's not...

And the spare wheel has to take place over fuel tank in the rear not in the center of the car.

Other than that, nice build !

Re: WIP: Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

Zeljko and Phil,

Thanks for letting me know. I will remove the foil.

Is the spare wheel face down or up on the fuel tank?

Re: WIP: Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

Car is about 90% finished! I didn't meet my goal of finishing it during spring break, but some progress anyway.

Most of the major decals are applied. The red ones are a pain!

pieces of the roll cage CFed and painted,

Dashboard painted, steering wheel CFed, added a little cell phone. Still need to add the curly wire behind the steering wheel.

Fuel tank is CFed with SMS Hi-Def carbon, too bad it will be mostly covered by the spare wheel, now in it's correct place.

The end is near now!

Re: WIP: Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

Very nice indeed.

Interior is looking very nice. And great job on CF-ing the door panels. Looks very clean (and perfect).

Re: WIP: Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

The interior is done now. I will try to finish the body this weekend. Here are a few pictures.

Mirrors and door panels are CFed. I used different types of CF for some variety. (F1 specialties, S27, Modelers, SMS twill and Hi-Def) May not be exactly accurate but hey, it looks good.

and a few shots of the completed interior

It's very nice. Only phone cable looking too thick to me.

Re: WIP: Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

Great update. Using different CF really makes a difference on the finished model (CF patterns, in real life, look different from different angles).
