I suppose it does come down to the actual use of car. I just want to make it your average showcar/stoplight racer. I think the blown h23 would look nice on the show floor because of it's difference from the usual turbo application.

Also, having driven a prelude for sometime now, I have noticed the lack of power on takeoff. I really wanted something to compensate for that, and with a supercharger (no lag, however minor it may be), I think the problem would be solved. 6 P.S.I. doesn't seem like much, but it seems that it would be enough if you built a good engine around it. Del, you have any figures for me?

Speaking of building a good engine around it, what kind of parts would you have to reinforce for the reliability? I wouldn't mind getting started on the small stuff now, and work toward it. "I have a dream..." :licker:

on a side note my vehicle is a civic delsol I have a small turbo with a b18c5 jap. manufactured motor and I have no problems with lag , now DSR (my friends and I) have a CRX with a rather large turbo, I still don't much if any lag from that. Roots and screw SC draw a considerable amount of power away from the smaller motors. not much but some where as the the turbo does not.

I see what you are saying when you say the SC draws power away from the engine, but that shouldn't even be a consideration because it adds power anyway. You are still getting plus power from it, you would just have to add more air to the equation than a turbo to get as much power as a turbo. That is understood. This is why I'm still undecided.

Anyone read that issue of honda tuning with the integra on the cover that says "bolt on 100 hp"? They also had like 36 hot prelude speed parts or something.. Good issue, just wondering if anyone could recall how much that integra was boosted to get 100 HP out of it.?

well, to give you an idea, my buddy with a 1994-1995 gsr gained about 150hp running around 13psi on a stock engine. given he had plenty of fuel mods and stand alone to support it, they are pretty tought when puts under pressure. too bad a little too much nitrous put a hole in the block, it was very fast fow a little street car, I think he was getting solid 12's on 16" nitto drags, and drove it there back 600 miles home. On a side note, I highly recommend not getting the jrsc kit if you live at a high altitude, unless you plan tou have upgraded fuel management, the little pressure regulator doesn't cut it, and i've seen 3 engines blow up with them here, we live at 5600ft, detonation. look into bigger fuel injectors and a hondata, your should be safe.

good thing i'm at sea level... or near there. i plan on doing whatever it takes to make the car reliable. I do want a daily driver as well as a mean little bitch when it comes to the stoplights. i guess it's like everything else (tire wear/traction, highend/lowend), you just have to find a happy medium between the two.

i feel like a twerp for saying i have all these plans, but without dreams, we'd be nowhere. thanks for the insight fellas.

If you are looking for torque... hrm... lemmi explain what I know about generic.

Turbos = brings the peak torque down about 500 RPM because of the blockage in the exhaust system. Widens the powerband on the car a bit but thats not necessarily good.

SC = bring the peak torque up about 500 RPM. So the same lude with a SC and turbo would have a 1000 RPM difference in the torque peak.

That's all I really know. And it isn't much...

My 2 cents.
