The Si -cant- run circles around the Zx2, in the hands of a good or decent driver -should- beat it, but thats about it. Oh, and course the $6149 youll save will get you enough performance to smoke the Si like it wasnt trying.

But I forgot, import is king.
yes it can you fucking dipshit none of the domestic spud units which have THE ALMITEY ZETEC can beat the Si civic the only one that comes close is the SVT focus

YOU FUCKING TWAT

and the si is US shit anyway a proper import since they don't sell it ANYWHERE ELSE OTHER THAN THE US would be the TYPE R

and as for ford ford sucks ass 99% of the time the only way they redeem the selves is through SVT and Saleen .........so kiss my ass fuck head

Cool car? Yes, I'm not an idiot. Would I like to drive it if you offered? Yes, I sure would! But, I wouldn't spend the money to buy one. There are WAY to many cars out there for me to be buyin'... I don't disagree that it's a cool car though...

*sigh* Lets look at some numbers Buddy.
since you mentioned it the:
Ford Focus SVT
Engine: 1988cc/1.9liters or 2liters if you round up
Horsepower: 170 @7000rpm
Torque: 145 @ 5500rpm
Tires: P215/45R17 Z-Rated High Performance Tires
Weight: 2750lbs
Economy: 21/25
Price: $17,480 <thats with out the 6 disk CD changer, which is optional.

and the Almighty Honda Civic Si
Engine: 1998cc/ 1.9liters or 2liters if you round up
Horsepower: 160 @ 6500
Torque: 135 @ 5000
Tires: P195/60R15 88V, All-Season Tires
Weight: 2744lbs
Economy: 26/30
Price: $19,000 <thats the starting price.

Ummm Ford comes with more standard Options, doesnt do the best at Economy but its still good so who cares? Its cheaper, in my opinion looks better, comes with factory installed Z rated tires. Yeah Ford Sucks.. Yep! Sure does...

Im the biggest Chevy fan there is, but chevy has been stupid lately so Im appreciating Fords efforts in all its departments.

And as for calling my friend a Fucking Twat... Dont you ever call him that again! THATS MY JOB DAMNATION! :hehehe:

I am not a fan of Ford. I've known way to many people who've been f'ed over by their poor workmanship. It may not be true anymore, but the crap they put out in the 80s and early 90s sucked more shit then a dung beetle.

With that said, I’d be willing to bet that the Focus would be a faster car. I’m not sure about ride quality but it looks like Ford is at least trying to make a half way decent entry level model.

You know, an amazing thing happened over the last decade in the ironhead circles... Ford guys, Chevy guys, even Chrysler guys all got together, we realized we weren't all that different... But that import guys are. Import guys will argue that they are not rice, and that's all up to your definition of rice I guess, but you guys are weird...

Anyways, my point is, all the serious muscleheads recognize that Ford muscle is muscle just like Chevy muscle is muscle. The only ones still bickering about how bad Ford is, or how slow Chevies are are kids who don't know better.

No, the ones who are bickering about how bad Ford is are also people who've owned them in the past and spent a fortune just keeping the POS running.

I had to vote for the Escort ZX2. It is uglier, slower, and a piece of shit compared to the Civic Si. I can't stand Ford; they make some of the worst cars. The only cars from Ford that I like are the worked over Shelby cars.

As for proof on Ford's being piles of shit here are a few examples.

Ford and Firestones cover up of tread separation in the 1970s. They do it all over again recently and point fingers at whose fault it is when it was both of them. Now Explorers are being recalled again for tread separation with their new tires.

Some Ford vehicles in the 80s had problems with the cruise control activating once the car was put into gear on automatic vehicles causing the car to accelerate out of control. Many people were rundown and killed because of this.

The Pinto was recalled for exploding from being rear ended and they are now having this very same problem with Crown Vics and Mustangs of all flavors. The police are no longer buying from Ford and I now see a lot of Ram, Malibu, and Intrepid police cars now. Fords answer, a piece of plastic to keep them from exploding. Will it work, who knows? Also quite a few police officers burnt to death in their cars because of this issue.

Why buy a car from a company such as this? Besides the new Ford guy pisses me off, he obviously doesn't know jack shit about cars. He is an ignorant ass, and looks like a dumbshit besides.

I can somewhat testify to this. My mom's '91 explorer died after 84,000 miles, and her '98 ford ranger xlt with the off-road package needed the entire rear-end replaced after 25,000 miles. I've driven the living crap out of my car and it almost has 25k miles on it, and the only problem I've had so far is fuel pick-up, but that's just because I was buying gas from a shitty place. Once I changed stations, the problem was gone.

Fords done alot, I think they have made some serous mistakes. Out here the sherifs only buy from ford to let you know, same with LBPD. My t-bird has had 52K miles of pure hard driving, and only twice did I need repairs. a 35 cent rubber washer, and a $50 part, thats it. But i'll be one of the first to step up and say "ford need to relearn how to build a car" They come out with many good vehicles, many soild cars, but how they put them together is really hard to work on in comparison to other makers.

According to Car Math

Zx2 15.54 Quarter

Si 15.01 Quarter

Only difference is, the Si dosent have torque to match its HP which is what this program assumes, now, if you level it out to 145hp for the Si 15.51 that sounds a lil better. Well now, lets look at the cars which are same price grade and car type

Focus SVT -14.72

Civic Si- 15.01

Now the SVT is still several grand cheeper.

You can argue that the Zx2 is the debate, but lets make one

2002 Cobra
2002 Civic Si

Who do you think will win that one? Oh wait, NSX will still say Si because honda is better than ford...I see.

Numbers speek for themselves people, the Zx2, which is several classes lower than the Si, still is a match, the SVT Focous which is the same class, wins the debate, and is still cheeper. :bandit:

oh and it comes standard with:
variable speed windsheild wipers
a shift nob
funtioning air bags
paint
seat belts
real glass windows
a roof

what does honda give you? (in same order as ford mind you)
a squeege
a metal stick
a stolen airliner pillow bunjee cord'd on
primer
more bunjee cords
plexy glass
optional roof

I say this all in fun, both are good cars, just one has nicer numbers. Its all what you prefer.

And isnt that what its all really about? What YOU PREFER?

and to be honest, when it comes to cars pricing today, it makes no difference on what the price really is, you have to finance it any ways so you pay a monthly bill towards the car and the montly payments would most likely be within a few dollars of each other. So it doesnt matter, thats where the Preference comes in. So what if the other car costs 1500 more, big deal you bought what you wanted not what some consumer report said or even better what some freckled faced punk kid with green hair said over the internet.

*starts singing* "why can't we be friends? why can't we be friends?........."

i mean yeah i don't like the kind of stuff that ford has out right now, and i'm not really into domestics, but i don't like that many hondas that much, just because too many people have them, and i'd rather go for Nissan, but that's my opinion...i know that ford has come up with some good shit before, but for some reason i just can't get into the styles that some of these american cars have....muscle is good, but i'm more towards imports..haven't figured out why yet....it's always been like that...i mean i've seen both cars do great things with aftermarket parts and whatnot, but nobody hooks up ZX2's in Randolph, they mostly use them for commuter cars...the civic is mostly driven by younger people, and they have all of the ricey things done to them.....fart pipes....the carbon fiber shift knob on an automatic transmission....sometimes they have rims, but most are still with the stock wheels with the hubcaps...both cars are ok..but if i had a choice i'd still go with the civic..
