Re: Land Rover Kit???

This is the real thing, tell me where Tamiya went wrong and why they are retarded...

(and yes, it really was pink when used by the SAS)

Re: Land Rover Kit???

Yep, didn't they refer to it as 'desert pink' or something along those lines?

Re: Land Rover Kit???

suicidehummer ,

Try this page - http://www.accurate-armour.com/showa...ubcategory=173

They have a large variety of 1/35 110 rovers (all very expensive)but I think the one your looking for is a series 2a GS hardtop.

Re: Land Rover Kit???

Other than that, I can see that JB models make both a hard and soft top series 3, corgi do a 1/43 Die cast hard top, you can get plans for 110 4x4 and 6x6's from here http://www.sandlehobbies.com/referen...ouseplans.html or you could search through this http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~lloyd...ys/#Land-Rover page to find the closest match to your brothers car.

hmm, the tamiya looks more like the jeep!
What a surprise.

what i meant was the style was jeep-like,
not the car. they didn't cut the roofs
right, the first one is an SAS one used during the golf war, it is a landrover defender, think of it as a convertible. they were known as "pink panthers".

second pic shows the 80s-onwards landrover defender.

the third is a willy's jeep. of no connection to landrovers.

the thing's so boxy you could scratchbuild it from sheet anyway.

Actually it was used in WW2 by the SAS and not the Gulf War.

Re: Land Rover Kit???

For some of AF's younger members, the Gulf War 1 is about as far in the past as the WW2....

Re: Land Rover Kit???

The 'Pink Panther' also known as the 'pinkie' was first used by the SAS in the Second World War but the concept stayed onto the first gulf war aswell.
