yes you do need to cut the hole bigger. I installed a CAI on my 99 G20. There was a LITTLE more power, but I think the deep throaty sound made it seem like ther was more power than was really there. Any mod that makes your engine breath better is wort the $$$$$$>.:bandit:

I have a p10 G20 and I have a bolt on APEXi air filter but all it does is suck hot air
from the engine bay. I have no airbox anymore and I want to make a cold air ram
from the front of my bumper but there is an oval hole where the airbox used to be.
Has anyone enlarged this hole and does anyone have any pictures if they have?

Also before the throttle body on the intake there is a container that comes off the
intake piping and bolts to a bracket above the clutch cable. Has anyone removed
this and did they find any difference in performance? I have removed it before but
had nothing to bung it up with. It seems to only be for noise reduction and quite,
quite pointless.

Yah thats the resonator box...doesnt really do shit...actually its kind of funny..Turk showed me the "Gatorade Cap Mod"...just take that box out and in the hole there, stick a cap in and tighten it up...works good...i think the car actually sounds better without it...and it helps to clean up the engine bay too...i have a pop and the battery is in my trunk..and you should see how theres so much room up, especially with the battery tray out too....

I think im gonna do a CAI soon cuz im in FL and it gets really hot under the hood...so hopefully it might help suckin air from the wheel well...
