whoever started this thread, to lazy to look at name.....first off, i dont see the majority of people saying they are gonna get it. I see alot of people saying how they want it and other half saying how they will get it. Im 20 years old and i can buy the car right out. Thats not with mommy or daddy helping me. I was wise enough to save well over 20k the last 5 years ive been working.

anyhow, stop bitching.

oh and btw i WILL be getting the evo WHEN it does finally come out.

I dont hear you, your words, invisible, nothing but space to my eyes. You extend your hand, but i pretend not to see it, just like you pretended not to acknowledge me. Life sucks, thank you for making mine all the more clearer. Welcome to my world.

Nope, it's not. Look here.. The conversion rate is $US 1 = $SGD 1.85

Now, if you had to pay that kind of money for a BMW 318 or an Evo, I think the choice is pretty clear....

BTW yes I paid for the car myself, I'm in my late 20s....

Cheers.

Thanks man.... anyway I haven't gotten any pics of it cos it's really a common car here and I haven't made any mods to it. It's also hampered by the fact that I don't have a digital camera (all the money went to the car loan haha. )

Anyway, I'd think it be a cool car to drive in MN; I spent 4 years in UW-Madison

Cheers.

and the fact that if you mod it as much as you did the OZ, you'd get raped by it.

anyways, I plan on getting the evo within a year of graduating from college (I'm a second sem. freshman right now). I'll be working part time during school, full time during the summer, and getting gigs on the side in a quartet, which can be very lucrative in and of itself, especially considering I'm not half bad, and I manage to get a good reputation whenever I play, which leads to even more gigs. With that, and the fact that i have almost no personal expenses since my parents are paying for college and living, getting 30k by my own devices really isn't going to be that hard. I actually had it all budgeted out about 4 months ago, but I don't remember all of the figures. If everything goes as planned though, I should have at LEAST 35k for the car in 3 1/2 years, and that provides a cushion. If I don't make it to the cost, I'll have enought to make an extremely large down payment, and enough monthly income to finance. I don't think its going to be a problem, since I'm a very patient person, and I can out stubborn a rock, so I wont get sidetracked into any other major purchases. I'm not worried, I'll have an evo.

well, I definitely wont have enough money to buy a Skyline. Besides, I want an evo more. I've wanted one for the past 5 years, and thats the car I'll want 2-3 years from now (I'll be setting up a test-drive of one as soon as I can. I'm very focused on buying it as soon as I have the money, or the steady income and credit rating to afford monthly payments, and the way things are going, that means I'll be buying the car as a graduation present to myself. Or a present for going to grad school or something (getting my PhD in classical violin performance, and hopefully a degree of some sort in education or theory. my parents are proud of me. .).

I have a car now that will easily last me until then. probably even longer if need be.

I am pretty set on buying an evo new. I really want to make sure the car gets the TLC it deserves from day 1, and my past experiences with used cars is that people usually don't care for their cars as much as I do.

Don't worry about me, More planning has gone into this then just saying "I like evos, I'm gonna buy one."

lanceroz17,

you're going to have a lancer OZ going as fast as an Evo with just a RRE turbo kit and a MagnaFlow exhaust? that's right up there with all the little highschoolies saying how they're buying an Evo with their job at Pizza Hut. what about stronger pistons and rods? what about cylinder sleeves? you try putting more than 6 pounds of boost in that engine and you're going to crack the block the first time you hit the gas. to turbocharge an N/A car with anything more than 5-6 psi you're going to have to make extensive engine mods.

to the post:
i start a nice paying job in September when i graduate with a Masters degree. which gives me 'til january to save up for a nice down payment and hopefully monthly payments in the low 400s.

.........Bullshit.....

Not to step on your toes Lanzeroz17, but unless RRE has changed their specs on the turbo upgrade they put out, then the horspower increase on the dino from the techs mouth on the phone to me was:
140 HP to the wheels. That was probably untuned of course, but they threw it togethor last year for the SEMA. So quite possibly they could have built a better kit. But just the turbo and exhaust won't get you to the RAW 276hp of the EVO. And RhysMillinRacing(RMR), is building there own kits, but no release on parts or price yet, I talk to these guys alot as well. Lots more work need done "grasshopper."

The manifold on the kit your talking about is the stock manifold cut to house a turbo, and I havn't seen any new products from them yet.

So post all fo your links, scince my 14 hours a day of searching is pulling up slim parts in US right now...Or your dreaming. Either way, i want parts for my OZ just as bad as you, so i custome built and fit a couple.

By chance, hope I havn't pissed you off, but can you tell me who makes cams and cam-gear for the lancer, if so, would be nice. No one I have heard of yet, and I've called Crane and a couple of the other big ones, they all tell me it's in the works, but no promises, so if you know, please tell.

Im not attracted to the EVO VII as much as I am to the VI. But by the time I can afford one ill probably looking at purchasing a EVO VII anyway.

Does anyone think the EVO VI or EVO's in general have an expired date? what i mean is, a period of time when they just lose their fashion.

I still think the EVO VI is great, wonder how long it will last though..

Talking yeah i know

I just want to point out that the lancer oz can be mod to allmost the same hp with a little bit of things.i am not saying that it would destory it just that it could keep up with it .plus i know the oz cant destory a evo its a evo A.K.A the Supra and WRX Eater.IF THE LANCER NAME IS ON IT THE CAR IS GOOD .IF IT HAS EVO NEXT TO THE LANCER NAME IS A GREAT CAR.

lanceroz17,

i'm calling the bullshit flag on you again. you're not going to go from 120 HP to 260 HP without EXTENSIVE engine modifications. that's more than double the horsepower. if it was as simple as you say, we'd all be driving around in 12 second cars. since there isn't much of a tuner market yet for the american lancer, surf around and look at other kits for non-turbo cars to get an idea of price and performance. my friend's got his 98 civic up to 180 HP to the wheels, and it cost him around $5 grand. you can't just strap a turbo and exhaust on a naturally aspirated car and expect it to do much. the engine's just aren't designed for that. they'll blow apart.
