Acutally, 3M makes a Mirror tint. Very blue-ish look. My brand mirror tint is Llumar Platinum Plus. Very good tint, more of a silverish look.

To take it off flawlessly, you have to spray down the inside of the window with amonia. After this, you have to put a trash bag up to the window so it covers all of it. Make sure it is firmly against the window and it should be no problem if it is still wet from the amonia. Now you have to let it sit in the sun for a while so it adheres to the window tint. After everything dries, you peel off the trash bag and the tint comes with it. Got this info from a person that works at a tint salon. I saw the finished product and it worked pretty damn good.

Just a little FYI for all you G20-ers that clean the inside of their windows. Never clean them with windex or anything that contains amonia. This destroys the window film and you will be sorry. The best way to clean the windows is with water and soap. Some auto retailers have some products that clean the windows and don't contain amonia.

good thought.....but it is the responsibility of the tint installer to tell you what type of window cleaning fluid is good for the tint or not. The adherence part is up to the operator

Unhappy Mirror Tint

Let me tell you-COPS LOVE MIRROR TINT!:finger4: Pigs

I had it on my old car and got harassed numerous times. One cop after pulling me over a third time, scratched my tint and said, "I told you this tint is illegal (b/c it reflects sunlight/light into traffic) and it has to come off.":finger4:

I was STUNNED and thought I was trippin'. He can't do that!

Oh and my black tint was $150 after taxes. Take it back and watch them tint it (they'll love that).

Peace!

I'm thinking if I make them fix it, it will just start pealing and look as bad as before. I made them fix part of it the other day, and it seems that they fixed one bubble, and in the process created another one.
I give up! I'm going to go to another tinting place.
What kind of tint do you guys suggest? Normal or the mirror tint?

Save yourself the money and have them redo it. You paid them good money and should have gotten a satisfactory service from them and they failed to do so, therefore the weight is on their shoulders to satisfy the customer. No questions asked. My car is black and I have mirror tint. Looks great b/c it is different and adds a great effect to the car's apprearance. Sometimes you may see right through it, but when it's cloudy you can't see jack. You'll love it. I'd go with a Maddico Cool Chrome, or Llumar Platinum plus. Both give you a silverish look and superior quality. If they try to bullsh*t around, tell them you will report them to the Better Business Bureau or talk to a mgr/owner and I'm sure they will try to help you out. Don't settle for sh-tty workmanship.

i dont know about the rest of you guys but on my 99 G the windows were already slightly tinted... like less than 80%, but it was dyed into the glass in the form of a greenish hue... i was told that the metallic mirrored tints would enhance this "green" and that it would look crummy.

btw i paid $225 w/tax for my tints which have a lifetime warrantee against defects from either the tints or workmanship. they look great, i have not noticed any problems with the tints.

You were told right. If you put the mirror tint on, it would bring out the greenish blue color more.

I am saving up to tint my G becuase i wanna get my widows dipped in tint so this way there is no chance of bubbling or anything cause I am a perfectionist when it comes to stuff with my car. Any one herd of prices for dipping?
