Re: In progress: Hilux mini

EX-R Those rims looks very cool. Nice job on the lip. The graphics look killer on the truck. What maskign tape did you use, and what did you use to trim out the decal so you don't cut down into the green paint?

Thanks. For the masking, I am not sure what it is. I got it from a friend. It is a thin blue vinyl sheet. What I did for the masking. I first layed the masking on the truck. I then used the picture with the graphic cut out. I held the graphic against the mask. I outlined the graphic, then I took the mask off the truck, put it back on the backing, then cut it out with an exacto. After I cut it out, I placed the mask back onto the truck. that was kind of hard. I messed up on the passenger side. the bed graphic is slightly higher than the cab. Oh well live and learn. I could have left it on the truck, but I was scared that I would cut through to the paint, so I took it off instead.

Finally another update. Just about finished, polishing done, all the window trims are done along with the panel lining. I still have to paint the door mirrors, put the steering wheel in, install all the lights and lenses, and put the bed together. I have to paint the underneath of the bed cover first though. I am debating if I should even put the cover on. Can you see any difference in the other hilux trucks being built here?

Alittle more done. Door mirrors still have to be put on, and the final wax.

Re: In progress: Hilux mini

Cool looking. I like the two tone paint. But the bed is kind of out of place.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I didn't start a finished thread for my civic yet, cause I am still waiting for Chris's (FOTW) decals. As soon as I get them and put them on, I will take more outdoor shots, and start the thread.

Just the dump mode. I didn't want to mess with the bed. I thought about it, but decided not to. I am sure someone can mod the bed to do more poses.

Not sure what you meant. Did you mean the graphics on the bed is out of place? I know it looks incomplete. Since it was my first time doing a graphic paint job, I didn't want it too complex. The actuall graphic is supposed to wrap around the tailgate, and the bed cover along with the hood was supposed to have graphics also. Maybe the next one I can try something alittle more wild.

I kind of ment the bed it self. Like how it is dumping. Just sort of looks out of place to me. But then again it looks like a low rider truck.
