In progress: Hilux mini

Well since I am almost done with my civic h/b, I thought I start another one. Up next, an Aoshima Toyota hilux version 1.

I already sprayed the color. I can't believe how much paint I used for this truck. I actually used the whole bottle, while for a regular car, I only use about a third. I guess it is because I painted all the bed pieces separately. I felt I could not paint it assembled, cause the tailgate would have to be squeezed in. The color is House of Kolor Limetime green pearl. I also want to put graphics on this truck, but I have never done a graphic paint job before. So if it looks crappy, don't mind it. The color for the graphics will be Sherman Williams chameleon (not cheap stuff) shot over a black base coat. I got the idea for the graphics from a dub city 1:64 F150 crew cab. Here is a pic of the truck.

I used that picture by re-sizing it and printing it out. I cut away the graphics and drew an outline on the masking.

Here are the pieces sitting in the bin awaiting the clear coat.

A closer shot of the graphics. You can't tell that it's chameleon, but wait till the clear is on.

For the chassis, I was just going to keep it a gloss black, but I told mysefl if I have enough chameleon without have to mix more, I would spray the chassis too. I guess I had enough.

Let me know what you all think.

Ok. Here are some pictures.

I pretty much finished the assembly of the chassis. All that is left is the exhaust tip, and the gas tank.

Another angle

Here is the cab.

A side profile with the one side of the bed. Sorry for the crappy picture.

Right now I am undecided on the wheels. Since I used the C-5's for my civic project, I thought I try using the Fujimi Advan TC II's. the only thing, I wanted a deep offset, so I tried my hand at making a lip on the rims. I just used a strip of styrene. What do you think? Should I use these on the truck?

You don't think they would look a little too big? I'll try and mock them up and see.
