Re: NOS in D1?

sounds interesting. i just hope that no one starts using nitrous to imitate their favorite d1 superstar...

could be some pretty nasty accidents.

I'm sure they use it... as stated: APEX'i + NOS= 493 HP... How is it used? We can only guess. Has anyone read the recent OPTION2 mag (in Japanese)? Supossedly there is a write-up about the D1 guys using NOS/No2... anyone out there read Japanese? I think I shall order my copy from PACIFIC-RIM...

Re: NOS in D1?

the funny thing is that people still think that nitrous is used with a button only.
there are far more ways to engage it, mainly a WOT switch. so you don't need a button.

secondly, computer controlled systems can give you 75% of nitrous, at a throttle angle other than WOT and build to 100% of the nitrous shot at WOT.

if you're that good of a driver, it wouldn't be a difficult product to use on your car.

no different than dealing with a turbo with alot of lag, is it.

Re: NOS in D1?

i was thinking about that flylwsi.... i guess as long as you can properlly control the amount of power you want then it shouldnt be any problem.

i dont see how you would need more than 400hp though, thats already a lot!

Re: NOS in D1?

maybe they just have it on there because they got money from the company to put the product on, no clue, I don't see why he'd need it anyways though

maybe to cool the FMIC?

there are no benefits at all to using it while drifting...as many have said, a spike in power upsets a drift rather then helping it, and drifting isn't about lap-times so it's not like they would need to go faster in between drifts...

i don't see any point to it at all...

Re: NOS in D1?

and like i said, a turbo spools, or has late spool, so a "boost" in power can come from that as well...
so if you've got the nitrous, it's the same thing, not much different. at all...
and if you've got it set on a WOT switch, when you're flooring it in a corner, keeping the tires spinning, an extra 50hp would be nice.

side note, the kei office car had a zex kit in it, or at the very least, a bottle next to it in the pits...

I think they might be using it to initiate the drift. Kinda like using the e-brake except without the loss of speed. It might also be used to gain speed durring a time crunch.

Re: NOS in D1?

NOS is compleatly pointless unless drag racing, and even there it is used as a crutch to an inferrior car that can't prove itself with its own horsepower. Using it for drift is just absurd. Leave the NOS to the stupid FastAndTheFurious boy racers.
