Re: NOS in D1?

I would have thought so too, buddy... but those are the rumors flying around my side of town! I'm just relaying the 411! I can't confirm this for you guys but from what I hear: the APEX'i FD3S was using NOS during D1
2-28-04... and apparently some other D1 competitors are also dabbling with NOS. What are the advantages for using NOS? Your guess is as good as mine... But I'm guessing it can be used to pick up enough speed before the corners?

According to DIALD Magazine, Youichi Imamura's A'Pexi FD3S AX75F92 + NOS = 493hp.

So yes, Nitrous is used in D1... His car was the loudest there. It hurt your ears when it drove by when it wasn't pegged to the floor.

Well... at D1 there was a stack of about 10,000 DIALD magazines sitting in the middle of the car show... for free.

I picked mine up off the ground.

Re: NOS in D1?

FREEBIE stack.... I missed that I guess. I just looked through the D1 program I bought and it also states "+NOS" on the APEX'i FD3S stats... that's an oddity! I never thought there would be NOS in D1! My friend was telling me that other drivers are also going to use NOS? I wonder how they use it......

Re: NOS in D1?

Quite possibly for stuff like spooling the turbo out of low speed sections, or even an extra kick of horsepower in high speed sweepers? I dunno. I fail to see the relevance of that mod, but I guarantee theres plenty we amateurs don't know...
Option once built a CA18 silvia with a supercharger, nos, and hydraulics ( maybe airbags, taxing my memory) which was purported to be a drift car...many many ways to skin that cat (ie drift setups) I would reckon.

Couldn't you use nitrous to break traction? I mean, you'll spin the tires in any gear depending on how big a shot you're using. So you could hit the nitrous right before the corner to initiate the drift. I'm not sure if that would actually work, but that's just what came to my mind when I thought of drifting and nitrous.

Re: NOS in D1?

in drifting you want a SMOOOTH power band, you don't want spiking power in the middle of the drift which can cause unpredictability in the behaviour of the car. true that his car probably is EQUIPTED with NOS but i doubt if he even uses it. It might be just for promotional factors
