A muffler is a muffler. Either it is good, or it isn't. Other than size, it doesn't matter what engine you put in front of a muffler as long as it isn't a POS. That said, I don't think Flowmasters are all that, but they sound good.

You're right, though, straight-through is the way to go for performance, but they are loud.

EDIT: I'm not saying all mufflers are created equally, I'm just saying that a muffler that works for a V8 will work fine for an I4, as long as it's sized properly.

whats some mufflers you guys recommend, mainly for performance but i love loud

if you want loud gat a vibrant, good performance too, if you want quality and good tone get an apexi

I've also heard that Moroso "Spiral-Flow" mufflers are quite good as well. I also heard from one person that they don't last long, but he had real built-up engine. High EGTs might have helped kill it.
