Re: feeling the vtec!

yea, i still have stock springs but have managed to shift to 8k safely with just valves for more than 6 months now. sorry I didnt post about staying in the powerband a little clearer, I can stay in the powerband by shifting at 7k rpm but find myself higher in the powerband when i shift at 8k rpm. And NO, I dont shift slow

Re: feeling the vtec!

I dont have a short shifter because all i could find for the 5th gens was an adapter which I dont like. However, I do have a weapon r throttle rotor that cuts my acceleration pedal in half. This thing is really sensitive to the touch that even when resting on the gas pedal, it takes you to like 3-4k rpm. When shifting, it gasses to full throttle so fast that its almost like power shifting. Although the RSX-S has an advantage over our prelude's, I've managed to edged quite a few of them out with this mod because of quick-shifting againts quick shifting.

How much did your throttle rotor cost?

Re: feeling the vtec!

you could find them on ebay for cheap now. no more than $30. I bought it for $33 last year so I would imagine it being alot cheaper now. h22lude, if you get this, you have to be a very light footed for regular driving or you will find yourself jerking a bit and over-revving. It took me like couple hours of driving to get the hang of it. hope this helps man

Re: feeling the vtec!

yea man this things koo. everyday driving is fine but the only thing I think you would be dissapointed is having a hard time to launch when racing because its hard to keep the rpm stable. And even when you get it stable it would move up and down a lil. I recently got full throttle launch programmed to my ecu and dont have to put up with this anymore although. let me know how you like it homie and if you need any help with the installation just hit it up.
