8000 is where a gs-r redlines stock, i hit it all the time and my gs-r has 150,000 miles on it, in fact thats where i shift when i race. and you can get upgrades that push redline even higher, I don't see the problem. what do you guys do shift as soon as the vtec kicks in?

I totally agree with RunninSOHC... I had the same exact problem with the rattling noise as soon as i installed my new high flow cat converter.. Noise occur when i'm in 3rd gear.. or when i downshift... between 3k rpm as well
