It's a great kit, I've looked at the kit up close...only real issue is the wheels are a scale inch undersized which makes no sense as they are new wheels and tires...
I agree with you. It would be much nicer, if they made the wheels and tires more proper size.

Hello,
this kit is the US version - the one with red model on the box art.
the kit # is 85-4216. As far as I know, the US version and European version are identical; only the package is different.

What CF did you use?

Someone asked about CF in the kit, well the US kit has none but the RoG kit does. This should also answer the other question of two kits. The blue kit is most likely the RoG version while the red kit is US.

Hello, Chris
This kit is US version kit.
I'm not sure about European version, but there's no CF decal in US version kit.
I used studio 27 CF decal (don't know exact product name.. maybe Medium size CF decal for 1:24 scale?)
Thank you!

Re: Revell 1/25 Corvette ZR1

Great looking model! I only have one problem with it. The wheels are too thick compared to the 1:1 it's the kit's fault but overall, it's a spectacular build!

Excellent execution, really. I did have the kit in my hands a few weeks ago and I must to say you did an outstanding job. Perfect painting and decals application, glamourous photography. Bravo !

Re: Revell 1/25 Corvette ZR1

Hello
I'm new here and also new in the Auto modeling.
I have the Revell USA kit.
I was wondering, how did you get the carbonfiber on the splitter? It looks fantastic.
The Vette is Beautiful too.

I went with Bahama Blue on my ZR1. Closest blue I could find to Jetstream Blue

Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim,
I just read your comment.
It's a little bit painful procedure to put the carbonfiber on the splitter.
First, attach the masking tape around the splitter.
then roughly draw cutting line around the panel line using a pen.
take the masking tape from the splitter and attach it on the back of CF decal.
cut CF decal and attach it onto the splitter using enough decal softer so that it can stick to the splitter thoroughly.
using art knife, slit the panel line and remove the CF decal not on the splitter.
sorry for poor explanation.. hard to explain it without pictures.

Your ZR1 looks so great! good luck!

Unhappy Re: Revell 1/25 Corvette ZR1

I read about your revell zr1 build. Your build was simply amazing. But i do have a question about strato blue that you used for painting the Corvette Zr1. The question is which strato blue did you use because the there two diferent shades of strato blue from 66 house of color with two different part numbers ?:

Re: Revell 1/25 Corvette ZR1

I believe it's fine Stratto blue (HOC-FBC04)
This is the link where I bought the paint from;

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
