Cool Revell 1/25 Dodge Viper SRT-10 (FINISHED)

Hi!

I finished this model in one week and I slept only for two hours in the last two nights because I had to finish it
before the local contest in Slovenia. I had the best model in Revell's class in senior class so I got first prize.

The hood doesn't close because of the too high air filter. Revell... Generally speaking it assembled
very nicely, with minor problems. The wheels are aftermarket - 18" Work Meister S2. Don't mind the black
wash, because it's too strong - rookie mistake.

Sunbathe after the contest:

I painted it with "mica silver" TS-76, the finish is made with TS-13 lacquer. I polished it with Tamiya's
compounds "Fine" and finish, then I applied Tamiya's wax.

I won't repair mine anymore. It's glued together + when I'll look at it after 10 years I'll exactly know, why I placed 4th in the
contest (75 points out of 100).

About the wash... The panel lines are too wide, so the black wash looks exaggurated.

Thank's!

You had no third brake light at the contest and later put it in?!

Congrats on the win.

True! And I also polished it only with Tamiya's Fine compound for the contest. After the contest ("sunbathe pisc")
I added the 3rd brake light, polished it with Tamiya's Finish compound and applied Tamiya's Model Wax.

Actually I was so late with the build, I had to glue the mirrors at the contest. Here's some fieldwork...

I lost the original brake light, so I had to scratchbuild it out of the clear red plastic remains.

And thank's for the replies, guys!

I know all to well about doing this. My friend, Brandon, was actually BUILDING his '69 Camaro right up to the entry deadline time and though he didn't actually finish it, and didn't take any kind of trophy with it, A LOT of people commented on his car. I'm sure he'll take a trophy home with it next year though, since it will be done.

I bet you too would have done better with those minor details sorted out. That is a fine build you have there. I would not have used black for the panel lines though, a darker silver, or gray would have been a better choice, or even some smoke color, just to give it a shadow effect.
