B16A tranny rebuild questions

who makes a rebuild kit for these? (CABLE B16A TRANSMISSION) i have been searching and the only thing i could come up with would be using 92-93 GSR gears OR getting another tranny.....anyone? anyone?

I'm pretty sure you can use the LS rebuild Kit, the gears are the same as a Type-R if it's a S1 tranny, the others I'm Not sure.

no. cause normally a rebuild kit doesnt replace hard parts like gears, only synchros, seals, and bearings.

i have an S1, but i cracked the case and it leaks. im getting a YS1 from a 92-93 GSR, putting 1st thru 4th from the S1 in it, leaving 5th from the YS1, and putting LSD int it.

why? might you ask. the USDM YS1 isnt the same as the JDM YS1, its kinda an inbetween from the S1 and the USDM LS trannys. not quite so short, but not long. and since the JDM S1 is basically a type R tranny (cept for 5th and no LSD) i figure ill build my own type R tranny for a lot less. im getting the YS1 for 75 bucks, and an LSD for 200

ok, so then a rebuild wouldnt necessairly change the gears just the syncros and i could use the LS kit........would that cause any problems though? and what LSD could i put into it? i want to get a quaife LSD for it BUT the problem is they dont make one for a B16A cable tranny....should i just get one for a b18a1 tranny?

I'm pretty sure quife makes lsd for our b16 tranny? If not then go with Kaaz.
