boost controller

I tried to install a manual boost controller that a friend and i built. It worked but the only problem that i had was when it went to 16 or 17 psi it would then drop back down to 13 or 14 psi. Anyone know why it would not maintain the 16?

the car's ecu may have a safe mode that "leaks" air until you hit a set boost psi...

they guys at overboost.com noted the same thing with their project 1.8t golf... even though they cranked the boost up, the car wouldn't let it get past a certain point...

you need a more high tech controller

here's the article...
