Honda seatbelts are warrented for the life of the car. Honda will replace them for FREE! I just had it done last week. just call your local honda dealer and set up an appointment.

Canadian Civic/crx have Pillar mounted seat belts. canadian safety standards did not allow the door mounted into canada in this perticular vehicule. the Car MAY BE BUILT in canada but it is not a canadian model if it has the door mounted seatbelts. The std/DX/LX/SI civic/crx's made in canada for the us market has door mounted seat belts... and as far as I know Japan made CRX and Civic for the US or canadian market had pillar mounted belts.

i thought it was 88-89 pillar mounted, 90-91 door mounted for US civic hatches. but blueturtle says he has pillar mounted with a 90 civic. i'm all confused now.

I am not the original owner is that going to make a difference (probably)?

yea, i think they have to.

Also, to switch them to the pillars, i don't think it will be that hard for me to do, just requiring some welding, and cutting the bracket that held my rear seat belts, since i don't have rear seats, i won't need those and can just move them. Then all i will need is the panels, and should be done
