Re: Nissan GT-R
It's a powder that simulates chrome. It's applied rubbing it with a cloth or cotton to the model.

MGM powder and Kosutte are the same thing. Painting was normal: primer, black, clear coat and polishing. After it was finish, I rubbed the chrome powder. The chrome is very delicate, if you touch with your finger you will have fingerprints in the model. This chrome can be removed with water, if you apply waterslide decals you'll let marks on the model. I did a lot of tests trying to find a way to clear coat the chrome powder, but got no success. You can see some of my tests here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...02#post7036102 http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...86#post7034486 http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...81#post7034281 To protect the chrome, I store my models in display cases:

Re: Nissan GT-R
thank you for your response.
I did it myself the test for laying decal on the powder, after much failure, I found a solution, I dipped the decal in the water like a normal, then put the decal with its support on a paper towel for about thirty seconds to mop up the remaining water then I landed on the carro, no trace reaction on chromium. |
