Tamiya F40 competizione

Hello AF! I am happy to say that this one is in the books. I wish I would have done better. It took some effort due to some kit shortcomings as well as lack of some skill/planning. After working with this kit, I appreciate newer kits more. Well that's enough out of me. The kit is painted with Duplicolos red from a can topped with Dupont 2k clear. i didn't try to get a 5 star finish since I went for a more "driven" look, which I used some weathering to help with that. I used crazy modeler, scale motorsport, studio 27, model master, hobby design, pro tech, scalefinishes and alclad to detail the kit.

Well here we go..

In the end the hatch didn't align!

Nice clean build. The black wheels go so well with the red.

great job cjsbosox!!! congrats!!!
job paint is good, looks cool outside.
Just as a comment, usually seat belts are different that the color of the seat. This helps to contrast and better apreciation of your work.
Carbon fiber looks great also.

Re: Tamiya F40 competizione

Nice, you spent quite some time with additional detailling.
Did you put any (blue?) coloured paint onto the pipes behind the exhausts?

Re: Tamiya F40 competizione

Looks fantastic! Its a great kit by Tamiya marred only by the rear hatch fitment when installed to body. As I mentioned to Tomo, you can cut / remove the tabs that connect the main body to chassis above the rear wheels & this hopefully allows the rear hatch to sit better.

Thank you guys! Kjenjak I did not heat stain the exhaust tip since it would be barely noticeable. Miguel I wanted to use another color, but that is all I had available Da_ashman I might try tomo's tip later. I totally forgot about it.
