Floor shifter 1997 Jimmy

Need some ideas.

Have a 1997 Gmc Jimmy and automatic transmisssion,Has a floor shifter and is stuck in park. Seems to un stick if you bounce it around.Had it tow after trying to get it out of park. Got it home now it is working. Just had a transmission put in 3 months ago. What could be wrong( cable, a switch )

Thanks

Floor shifter gets a lot of stickey stuff spilt in them and other stuff.
Pull floor shifter cover and check shifter release solenoid or wiring or shifter release.
If any stickey stuff or trash in there clean it up.
Is this one you have to step on brake to release shifter?

Then the brake switch trips the solenoid on shifter or shift cabel.
Make sure fuse is good and brake switch is switching solenoid.
