car stopped while driving

I was driving and all a sudden my gas pedal was no responsive so as i pulled over my engine died right before i stopped. tried starting the car and nothing sounds like the starter is moving but the engine isnt turning over. timing belt is intact and moves when car is pushed. cant push jump start it either. anyone know what it might be?
