Parking brake won't stay on
2005 Grand Caravan 3.3L 80,000 miles. My parking break will not stay on. You don't hear the typical ratcheting sound when pressing the pedal and the thing springs right back after pressing it. I pulled a rear drum today while my wife gently pressed the pedal and the inner workings were fine. The shoes spread apart like they should. I haven't dug into anything yet but I plan to this weekend starting in the interior at the pedal.

Re: Parking brake won't stay on
I looked things over today with help from my wife pushing on the brake lever. All the cables look good and are moving free. And you can hear the brake parts expanding in the drums. It looks to me like something is wrong with the tensioner located above the brake lever below the dash. I can see two springs, one to likely return the level back to home and the other to apply tension to the cable. I found some posts on Dodge forums that mentioned the proper procedure for adjusting the parking brake cable tensioner but there were no details explaining how. Anyone out there have any experience with this?
