ABS and Parking brake lights stay on
my 2000 sierra 3 door has 260,000 miles on orig motor/trans. ive never had a problem with abs or brake system at all for that matter. two weeks ago both warning lights came on out of the blue and have stayed on since. i had a weak battery so i replaced it & left it unhooked for 20 or so min to reset. the brakes including abs seem to be working fine. do these lights show a code?

Re: ABS and Parking brake lights stay on
Yes they do show a code, have you checked to brake fluid to make sure that it is full? If the brake fluid is full, I would take it some where and have the computer scanned for codes and then work from there. You may have something wrong in the abs system.

Re: ABS and Parking brake lights stay on
I have the exact same two lights on. They've been on for over three years now I believe. The mechanic checks the codes and everything else everytime my truck is in the shop. He said there's some sort of electrical mixup problem.
Let me ask you this. Do they come on all the time, or can you drive for a while then they'll pop up. Sometimes even a day or two without them popping up? That's how mine are.

Re: ABS and Parking brake lights stay on
they just came on 3 maybe 4 weeks ago. im relieved to hear that yours have been on for so long w/ no problems.. i've heard that no codes will show up on regular scanner but i know for a fact that the lights, either on or blinking in different combinations do indicate different system problems
