Question Revell Germany Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

Hey guys,
I'm thinking on getting a Revell Germany Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, and I found that there are two of them? So if any of you have built both of them or know the differences, which one is better? Or are both of them the same kit?

they are the same kit with the blue one being the original revell of germany issue and the red a later one.

i would go with the blue box if you have the choice as the body in that is moulded in white plastic and could save you any troubles with painting over red plastic that sometimes bleeds through affecting colour.

the blue one box was often released in a blister set including paints and glue.

Why not get the US Revell release, save a few bucks, enough for a PE set even.

Well the place where I'm buying it sells the US Revell version only for two bucks cheaper, plus it says US version has 110 parts and Revell Germany has 122, and US Revell is skill level 2, while the other is skill level 3.

It's the exact same kit, just different box. My only "concern" would be I have built two of the Revell AG kits, they are a rather rough/crude kit vs. the latest Revell AG Ferrari kits, and the one US-boxed 612 kit I've seen had even worse sink marks than the Revell AG kit.

I would still buy the cheapest kit. Unless the dealer can open them all to show you the differences, the main thing is boxart and instruction manual...the plastic parts are identical, aside from the fact Revell USA versions are generally all molded in white.

Re: Revell Germany Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

I didn't know any better at the time, since it was my first car kit, made for a friend of mine who was leaving the place we worked, and always wanted one...

I found that it went together pretty well, the chassis needed a bit of "persuading" to slot into the body, and some superglue to keep it in place, but apart from that it was reasonably well-detailed, and great value for the price I paid...

bestest,
M.

That looks great, I'm making mine black, with white interior. Didn't know they made white interiors and then I found this:

That's Zero Paints Grigio Silverstone with 2K clear. My friend Gareth, who I built it for, had a pretty clear idea of his dream spec 612!
