thinking about buying this civic..

do you think its worth it? How can I be sure about the mods this guy is claiming he's done, are true?

..since I know diddly squat about cars :/

I have a 1998 Honda Civic for sale with the following upgrades.

Engine has less than 10k!
Block was decked, honed/cross hatched and hot tanked.
Crank was also inspected, polished and checked for proper balance.
It has new Nippon Race piston rings
New Honda pistons
New Honda main seal
New Honda oil pan gasket
New Honda water pump
New Honda oil pump
New KING rod bearings
New KING main bearings
New KING thrust washers
Head got disassembled, inspected, resurfaced and also hot tanked.
Was then rebuilt with a complete Evergreen Automotive gasket/ seal kit.
New Cam seal
New valve seals
New valve guides
New Intake manifold gasket
New Exhaust gasket
New head gasket (3 layer metal gasket also copper sprayed)
New Honda timing belt
New Honda head bolts

Transmission-
D16Z6 transmission from 93 Civic EX (short gears)
Skunk2 short shifter
F1 Racing stage 1 Clutch
F1 Racing stage 1 Pressure plate
F1 Racing 9lb steel alloy flywheel
F1 Racing throw out bearing and pilot bearing

Exterior-
New BMW jet black paint with red pearl (over 2k alone!)
SI taillights
SI emblems & badges
Civic Type R front lip
Civic Type R slash guards
New OEM headlights with 4000k HID kit
JDM window visors

Wheels/ suspension-
*MINT Prime Racing 3pc 15x7 RS mesh with gold buttons (rare)
New 195-50-r15 Kumho tires mounted and balanced
New Skunk2 Pro SS full coilovers (currently 3'' drop)
New Skunk2 rear camber kit

Interior-
9 out of 10 interior!
SI guage cluster
JVC CD player
Sony 6x9's
Everything works!

Mechanic owned! Have paperwork and pics of complete build! Car is Immaculate! Clean, notarized Arizona title in hand!
Car has been a great daily driver for me with ICE COLD AC! I am only selling to make room at my house I have to many projects going on... Price is set at 5,500. No trades and will not negotiate on price. Thanks!

My $0.02: RUN from any modded car unless you know someone who can 100% verify that a complete moron didn't do the work... Sorry.

I agree. Run away.

First off, I would never buy a lowered car. They have a very rough ride, and tend to get damaged over big bumps, driveway entrances etc because they have no clearance.

Also, its easy to mod something improperly, so it does not run right, will not pass emissions tests, and ends up being a massive headache.

Finally, if this car is good as it sounds, it will very likely get stolen. Someone will see it, follow you home, and you will find it missing the next day. Even if you hang on to it, your insurance will be expensive and/or they will not cover you for the full extent of your loss.
