Matte paint jobs
Got a Jeep CJ and planning to re paint it a matte gunmetal grey. Wondering if there is a clear coat for matte paint? Also any paint codes out there for a matte gunmetal grey? Going for that stealth look.

Re: Matte paint jobs
PPG has a flattening agent, that you can add to regular clear. With that, you can have a flat paint job, or a semi-gloss paint job, depending on the ratio you mix (clear : flattening agent). There's also a product out there called Hot Rod Flatz. I believe it's single stage paint.

Re: Matte paint jobs
Thanks speediva, civic. handy links. I m based in India so matte is not very popular here, will probably buy the mix on one of my travels and leave it in the hands of my painter. Fingers crossed! Post a couple of pics to show teh color I m going for.
