Try rubbing your finger across the paint, the oils on your skin could give it a sheen.
Use some thing like Pledge furniture polish on a rag and wipe the paint that should work too ! :bandit: Mike

Use a semi-gloss paint instead if you can...if not give it a light rub with some compound

Since we're on the topic of paint shine, i got a couple of questions; 1) what's the difference between compound and model wax? or is it the same thing? 2) if i wanted to shine up (mirror finish) a painted body, what would be better, a waxing/compound, or a clear coat? the reason i'm asking is due to my integra R (which some of you might remember me asking about paint finish in a thread called Tamiya TS-42.) Well now the integra is painted in that color, and i'm not satisfied with the finish(shine).
so what you guys think? and one more question, what would happen if you use modelling wax or compound (if they mean the same thing) over a clear coat? oh and can you use automotive wax on tamiya's TS paints? thanks!
