You may want to do some serious re-consideration in regards to your mounting location. What you've put together so far looks really sweet but cooling is going to be a problem for you. Yes, I saw where you have placed the fans - good idea - but your amps will be mounted upside down - bad idea. The amp disipates off the circuit board into and through the heatsinks, heat rises as we all know therefor you are eliminating the function of the heatsink by having them upside down and things are gonna get hot. this may not be an immediate problem but it will severely shorten the life span of your amps and won't take long to become an issue. I've been installs for a long time and just don't want to see so much good work turn into something not so good. heat is always an issue, I've seen a lot of hookups where people didn't take it into consideration or simply said 'screw it' and 9 time times out of ten sooner or later there's a problem. Not trying to rain on your parade, just really want you to be sure of the situation that will probably turn into a hot one and put some more thought into it. Perhaps there's a way you can mount the amps right-side up so as not to lose the heatsink function - that would really help! Just my two cents... - Jeff

So far, the installs been in about a year now, and ive had no problems with the heat. The amps itself have a built in fan which would also aid cooling. But remeber, the transistors ( i thnik they are called) anyways, the bits that actually create the heat in an amp are usually secured onto the heat sink inside the amp, so an heat would transfer into the heat sink regardless of it location. Convection normally travels upwards, as you say heat rises, but conductivity travels in all directions, and thats what were dealing with here. So once the heat is in the heat sink, the fans will covect it away.
