Re: MOTY 2008 Results!!

Well done to everyone for taking part in this incredible show of model building
That's the true spirit of a forum - participation.

Thanks to Andy and his team for taking on the organisation. We all know that it's easier to criticise something than put together an event that will keep everyone happy. You all walked that slippery tightrope very well in my opinion

Congratulations to Alex on his well deserved result

Finally, many thanks to those who felt that Jean-Paul was worthy of their vote. That put the cherry on top of the cake for what was a very enjoyable build for me. Cheers!

hard to pick!? not with me bro...

what you did to your ferrari modena is considered revolutionary.
your method of approach, the way those doors swing open, are unprecedented & very hard act to follow, for me that is (as i'm new to opening doors & trunks).

you are a winner to me, period.

and i have a kit prize waiting for you too!
just tell me what you intend to build next & i'll see if i have something close to it for you.

i salute you mrawl!

Re: MOTY 2008 Results!!

Well, congratulations to all winners!!! The top ten rankings are well deserved. Seems like the AF community raises the bar higher with every MOTY contest. If voting was hard this year - wait for the next

Big thanks to the AFMOTY team for putting it together!
Now I just need to know where to send the F40...

Cheers

Re: MOTY 2008 Results!!

Congrats to everyone... even those who did end up with 0 votes... for me they all deserve a little something. I loved all the entries without exception and the 3 votes were very hard to narrow down. I could take every photo and one by one find something cool about them but I won't.

Consider yourself amongs the best model builders folks.

OH,well... all my votes are in the top 10 at least !

Re: MOTY 2008 Results!!

Yep. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to those who voted for my build :-)
Competition was on a very high level and i found it just as hard as others to pick my favourites.
There are still some builds, especially in the "Street" section, that i have to find the time and read the WIPs. Some great models i missed until now!

Re: MOTY 2008 Results!!

Great entries and a well deserved TOP 3!

But most important - congratulations AF. We can put up a great number of entries on a contest. Thatīs what I liked best about the contest.

Andy & Alex and Willimo did an awesome job at putting this years contest together!

As for your Jean-Paul, that was the Me 'WOW' Klutz

I could see myself jumping some sand dunes in that one! I absolutely LOVED IT

Re: MOTY 2008 Results!!

As usual is was a parade of skill and imagination and a showcase of clear talent. I totally lost track of time and completely forgot about the deadline to vote, and I regret that. The builders of the models that came in the top 5 (I have a real soft spot for the Ferrari F40 GTE '96 and the Citroen 2CV) are like the Michael Phelps of the modelling world. These models are truly in a class amongst themselves among a group of already elite builders. I'm really surprised thou, that the 66' Chevelle Wagon, the very pretty Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa and the Porsche 993 GT2 Trackday didnt get a vote. My models should look so clean and nice. Now I will have to do modelling pole vaulting style the bar is pushed up so high.

I don't think the builds would quite so nice if they smoked what he smokes.

Sorry, couldn't resist . . . .

Re: MOTY 2008 Results!!

Congrats Alex! That was a super detailed build!

Sorry it is so late. Congrats to everyone else to! I loved looking at each one of these spectacular models, and it was very hard to pick out who might be in the top ten as there were so many great entries! I sure hope to see more great builds like these next year.
Needless to say, I already know what I will be entering this year.....again.
