1/12 Tamiya Porsche 934 - Jagermeister - lots of pics

This was completed early this year, had a request in a different thread to post some pics. Weather wasn't as sunny as I'd hoped, but it'll do . . .

I really don't think this is my best work - there's a number of firsts in this one, and as they say, if I knew then what I know now . . . . . This has my first basecoat paint (Zero from Hiroboy - no issues), my first use of clear coat (pressure too high, could have been better) my first attempt at stripping chrome and using Alclad (didn't get all the sealer from the factory off, especially visible on the rims), etc. I also have some fit issues with the front hood, but it's displayed with the hood beside it, so it's not noticeable I've got another one of these in the stash I'll tackle some day, it should end up looking a lot better in the end!

Enough preamble - here's the pics.

And my favorite shot of these:

That's gorgeous! I don't see anything wrong with it at all.

Looks flawless, one question i always see those fuel tanks that exact color. Is that how they come in the kit, or is it painted and what color?

Nice looking car. You pointed out the flaws and I still can't find them!

They are molded that way - a number of fiberglass parts on the real car are done in the same material.

Nope, this is a kit - thought I had heard a rerelease was coming, but I think mine is the 1997 vintage:

Well, I chose the photo angles too - and didn't post the ones with the more obvious flaws either!

Thanks all for the comments!

Re: 1/12 Tamiya Porsche 934 - Jagermeister - lots of pics

Kit is amazing! I had a few minor issues that I'm sure could have been avoided if I had been paying better attention. The hood was a bit warped, and I didn't correct that - then the various hoses are 'stuffed' under the fuel tank, which makes that a bit too high - between the two, the hood doesn't fit on the car well. Also, the door hinges aren't quite set up right (and I'm sure it's builder error), so they don't open cleanly - I've managed to chip the leading edge of the passenger side by having it rub against the body. I had some difficulty with the door window frames as well - they're two pieces, and the part along the trailing edge was a bit of a pain.

And being a full bodied car, it was a bit of a challenge getting it in the booth for paint - even if it has the front fenders as a separate piece! I may have to rethink how I approach the Lambo, as it's a full piece front to back . . . .

Sure, in return for a discount!

But seriously - I'd be honored. Let me know if you want a higher res on any of them - native on my cam is around 3000 x 2000.

Why don't you submit them for the prize draw at the Zero Paints website ?
and you could win 20 off bottles of paints.

Re: 1/12 Tamiya Porsche 934 - Jagermeister - lots of pics

Hi guys,

This is my first post on this great website and it's already a question. First of all, great work on the Porsche. so here is my question. I recently bought a 1/12 porsche jagermeister, but the decals where in bad shape. I try to put them in the sun, but did not work. Does anybody know where I can buy a replacement decal sheet? Let me know.

Kind Regards
Lesley
