Leave the rims chrome and I will hunt you down and kill you!
while i won't go to that extent of hunting you down, i try to admire the beautiful finish WITHOUT looking at those rims.

seriously, GTR looks sick (i mean having fever) with any chrome rims. it's just too lame color to match the "on your face" R35 body shape.

good thing it's just the rims...easy for remedy.
think about it bro...

Re: Nissan GT-R

I have to disagree with these guys. I like the mat chrome wheels. They give it a certain class, where as painted rims, though very tough looking and all, give it a ricer boy feel. I know if I had a $70K+ supercar, I would not have gunmetal wheels. I think Nissan did good on the wheel design and color for the GT-R. Not to mention the fact that it's a white car. If you paint the wheels dark, you will actually witness the wheels disappear as the paint dries.

If you don't like Chrome, try silver, or as you said a LIGHT coat of smoke, possibly a very pale gold.

Re: Nissan GT-R

I really like the way you've chosen to do the interior. Here in a minute I'm going to post my version of a GT-R35, but being my first 'test' build I didn't focus on the interior too much (and I regret it now). My main focus was on rims and body paint...

Anyway, that black / white interior is a really nice touch. I had thought about adding a 5-point harness, but the kit seats have closed holes (easy to drill out) and I didn't want to risk muffing them up (it would be my first time adding a harness).

As for your rims, what I did was strip them with some purple power to that they were plain white plastic, then painted them Tamiya Gun Metal in humid conditions (so it dried flat) and they have this powder coat titanium look, but that matches my color set up. For you, I'd go either flat black spokes with a Telfonica blue inner lip (if you used the Tamiya color suggestions, the blue will set off the metallic brown Brembos, if not the I'd suggest blue brakes and maybe gold inner lip with flat aluminum spokes)

Re: Nissan GT-R

Heh, I'm doing a white gtr too but mine looks nowhere near as good as yours . I just can't manage to spray white without messing it up. The wheels do actually look quite good just in chrome. Interior is looking really good too. Did you smoke your rear lights?

Super clean build!
Love that interior combo and the panel lines look great with the smooth white finish!
Very cool.
