Nissan GT-R

When this turned up in the post i just had to start it even though i have a few other builds on at the momment i have been unsure about what colour to do it but on asking some peoplei decided to go with pearl white and smoke over the wheels it should look nice and clean im doing this one OOB it should look like this one when finished

First off i primed with halfords white

Then the base coat of zero white for the pearl was layed down and the pearl topcoat was put on

Once the paint was dry i put on some klear and its all ready to polish up in a few days you can just make out the pearl paint it does not show that well on camera but it came out great though

Has anyone got any thoughts on the interior colour i should go with pls

Re: Nissan GT-R

I've seen photos of this with a part white interior that looks absolutely stunning.

I'm hoping that they have one of these on open display at the Motorshow this year so I can get some good reference photos.
Oh yeah....
shameless plug for my intended photo-fest coverage of the event just like two years ago.

Re: Nissan GT-R

In the US the interior/seat colors are either a very light gray or a charcoal-ish black color. I think the contrast w/the lighter seats will look best. Look at Nissan's website, build a GT-R online and you'll see the colors available.

I've got the kit as well, I settled on red so it matches my red NISMO 350Z. I'm also going to shoot TS Smoke over the rims. Masking/shooting the grille area will be fun, as it needs to be part semigloss black and gunmetal. I guess I'd shoot the SG black first (after the area is masked), then mask it and shoot the gunmetal at the same time I shoot the rocker panels/fascias.

If you ever see "super silver", it's an amazing finish. There's a reason it's a $3,000 option as it's wetsanded and polished just like we do our models. The finish is amazing; miles-deep gloss and superior to an Aston Martin, absolutely no orange peel...I don't think the other colors are done that way.

Re: Nissan GT-R

I was planning on white too, though solid not pearl. Although they call it pearl white is it a metallic colour?
The instructions show red flashes on the interior which would brighten it up somewhat.
I think the light grey seats look a bit light on the USA website.
I have pics of one with Red Bride seats which looks nice...

Re: Nissan GT-R

Nice progress thus far, the white should look sweet once complete. You used flat black on the body?

Re: Nissan GT-R

Nice color combo.

Beware of the poor fitting of the hood. The front end doesn't fit to the fenders very well either...maybe it isn't too late for you to adjust it.

Re: Nissan GT-R

Thats lookin pretty damn nice!

BTW, see for the layers of kleer you put on... how many layers and can you actually polish it? Will the layer of clear come off if I wash it? Or clean it with a damp cloth - after the layer of clear has dried
