A: Every manufacturer has different means of programming for a replacement remote. The Nissan dealer has a choice of using a computer scan tool known as the Consult-II or the conventional method that you can do yourself. It's not too tough as long as you're using the correct remote. Get in the vehicle. Close and lock all doors utilizing the driver's power-door lock/unlock switch. Insert and remove the ignition key more than six times within a 10-second period (at a rate of one insertion/removal cycle per second). Don't rush the process, and be sure the key is completely withdrawn from the ignition-key cylinder each time it's removed. Turn the ignition to the ACC position and press any button on the remote one time. The hazard lights should flash twice, letting you know your mission is a success. If you were going to program more than one remote, you'd simply unlock and lock the doors once again with the driver's switch and press the one button, one time, on the second remote. The procedure is completed by turning the ignition off, unlocking with the driver's switch, and opening the driver's door.

Do you know if the conventional method will work with Infinit i35 2002? The dealer told me that this method no longer works and that a computer must be used. Is this accurate?

Re: remote programming for Pathfinder

I own a 2002 Pathfinder SE that I bought used. There was never any mention of keyless ever on it. Is aw all the posts for programming fobs to the car but I can't tell if I have anything in the car to make it this simple? I looked in the fusebox where it said keyless and there wasn't anything...so is it possible for me to do this or do i have to buy a whole thing? Also how much would it cost to do it through a dealer?

Re: remote programming for Pathfinder

I have a 2002 Nissan Maxima, 76k miles, I have tried to reprogram my remote with no luck. I followed all the steps & everything goes according to directions until I insert the key and turn to ON and push the lock button on the remote to program it. I get no hazard flash indication for the successful programming of the remote. I also replaced the battery.
Any suggestions???? Thanks for the help!

Re: remote programming for Pathfinder

marie, try it slower .

i just bought a remote and couldnt seem to get it to work. then i stopped rushing putting in and pulling out the key from the ignition. it then seemed to work, and i finally got the hazards i was finally looking for.

close all doors, lock with power lock on drivers door
insert and remove the key from ignition more and 6 times in 10 seconds
---dont rush that step----
hazards should flash, and push a button on the remote.
wala.
