Talking put a downpayment today on a a-spec evo III!!

well, today i put a downpament to the highest volume dealer in lousiville ky. for a black, lancer evo 7, with recarro seats and momo stearing wheel package. should have the front mount ic too. i need to know the name and place to get a turbo-back exhaust and an intake and springs and stuff for it. i have about 4500 to drop in it right away, but i want my money to go as far as it can, so nothing expensive, but that will sound good. oh yeah, i forgot to say, its the first evo that will be sent to this area, which is a 400 mile radius. it will be one of the very 1st evos shipped here to the u.s. im extatic. i drive a dodge stealth twin turbo now and will be trading that in. its a 12 second car in street trim, and high 11's on race gas.

Also for the time being if you want to get tuning parts they will have to come from over seas like Japan, England, New Zealand, and Australia.
These countries have had the EVO VII out for awhile and you will have no prob getting them. It is really best to get your parts from Aus or Nz
cause your dollar is worth more over there. also, I forgot to add the website. It is in Japan and they have a lot of stuff rangeing from body kits to parts

www.takakaira.com

and this one is for Blitz in Australia.

Good luck

well, i was told it was the vii. maybe it is the 8. i dunnno, ive been getting alot of skeptisism about it. if it is the 8, il be getting it in jan. im getting one of the first ones imported by mmc. i even called mmc, and asked the rep. she said she has heard about it, she even pulled my order info up on the computer, and she said it will be here on the due period, which is jan. of 2003. has anyone heard anything about the 8? like from the rumors ive heard it should be coming the same time as expected... i mean if the evo 8 comes instead of the 7. im really confused. as long as i get an evo, and on, or near the due date, il be happy.

We are getting the VIII (8). It's "world launch" is Jan. 03. BUT, Mitsubishi won't start shipping from Japan until the end of January. So you are looking at Feb. as the EARLIEST anyone will get an Evo. And another thing....the dealer doesn't know CRAP about who gets the first shipment, etc. yet. There aren't even any specs released by Mitsubishi yet. And Mitsubishi has not set up its system for ordering Evo's yet from ANY dealer. My source is kind of giving me the run around on when orders will start being accepted.....they are actually telling me the US Evo won't debut until the LA Auto show...and specs may not be released until then. If thats the case...don't expect to be able to touch an Evo until March or later.

waiting

Dude, that's cool that you're getting one of the first in your area, you're lucky, guess the car wasn't widely anticipated over there. I live in Texas, just moved from the Houston area, been on the waiting list at Gillman since april of 2001, wasn't even known when it was going to come then, just talked to the sales manager and got along with him, he locked me in on first rights of denial, meaning that I could put about $1000 down not to be touched, and as soon as the car came in I would have first pick, but if I didn't like it i could take my $1000 and be on my merry way. Also I would wait a bit until parts came out officially for the U.S. spec of this car, don't forget how many things might get moved around and adjusted when redesigning a right hand drive to a left hand drive, best of luck. Oh yeah and here's something I found at http://www.lancerevoclub.com about the VIII.

Question

I spoke to two local dealers today (SF Bay Area), and neither was taking deposits until the official specs were released. I'd be a little wary about anyone taking deposits at this point, but hey, so long as it sticks, it can't hurt!
