Completed: Tamiya 350Z NISMO

I built this one totally out of box last November for a Scale Auto expanded review, which is in the current June '08 issue.

Nice kit, simple detail, completely overpriced at least at MSRP in the US. I gave it LHD and 2-tone seats that the US version has. Paint is Tamiya Bright Red over Light Gunmetal. Very rare car in the US, I had never seen one until last month at the auto show. Cool car

Here are some shots of it:

Looks awesome! I love how the shine shows off the "liquid flowing" bodywork on this car. The gunmetal parts look MEAN.

Re: Completed: Tamiya 350Z NISMO

I just read that article today....these shots look better though...

Great looking build, I was going to go with the Tamiya one, but I'm waiting on the aoshima one instead...There is a Nissan dealer not too far away with three of these on the lot..oh to be single again....I'd have the money to buy one..

Excellent build btw...the usual clean cars we typically see from you

I never really cared much for the Nissan 350Z (not a big fan of Nissans in general) but once I saw the NISMO I fell in love, and your model is a beatiful replica. BTW, not meaning to discredit you in any way, but I don't think they are so rare...the local Nissan dealer a few miles from my college has 2 in stock at the moment (out of their 3 Z's).

Nice build!

Re: Completed: Tamiya 350Z NISMO

Thats a nice build... My mate has a Nissan GT4 edition - i think it was almost £30k new.... The car looks very nice outside but the interior is certainly not quite upto scratch! I wouldn't have thought it was a £30k car interior - looks more like £10k car interior with leather seats... really really bland interior on the 350z but looks nice. I have an RX8 myself. The car obviously has a lot less performance and cost less but I bought it mainly because it is more practical. Comparing the 2, the interior of the 350z I would give about 5/10, RX8 8/10 and my mate's Z4 about 7/10. Performance wise, the 350z is the best.

Thanks, this is the same car. I shot the Tamiya bright red over the white plastic, and it didn't need much buffing at all. When the stars align just right, a shiny finish like this from Tamiya paint over glossy plastic is a treat! This was actually one of the easiest paint jobs I've ever done. Felt like I was cheating

Looks stunning. Fantastic painz job. The combination of the different paints fits the car well. Congratulations on the article in Scale Auto.
