advice on changing speakers

Hi i jus bought a 97 maxima gxe a few months ago and it has the base nissan speakers and cassette deck. I desperately need to change them the speakers are really distorted im not really into the pounding bass i jus want crisp and loud sound. I've been looking into jbl 3 way speakers im not looking to spend much the jbls retail are $120 any advice on what i should buy speaker wise also i am going to buy an mp3 head unit is panasonic any good for a head unit . thanx for reading someone please help me im confused i dont really know wut to do

i got some sony's like a couple of months ago and they're really clean...i mean no bass, but a lot of treble and mid range. I don't know if my headunit just sucks or if the speakers really have no bass. My headunit puts out 40 watts x4 by alpine and that's not much but anyway..it's really crisp...i suggest that these go in the front...i put mine in the back not knowing that they didn't have bass...i have a GXE and those models have the same speaker size all around the car but if you have an SE or a GLE then u can only put these in the front...here's a site where you can look at them. http://www.circuitcity.com/frame1.js...ductsearch.jsp The one i got are a pair of 6.5in. 3-way sony speakers..model number SON XSV1632, just go down the list and you'll find them.
