Question Newbie needs advice on speaker buzzing/humming

I have an aftermarket 10-disk changer in my 'bu' that has worked fine until this past year. Now there is a buzzing/humming bleeding through the speakers that has grown steadily worse and is to the point that it is starting to overwhelm my cd's audio output. I am at my wit's end and can't figure out how to fix this! It seems to be related to the throttle, when I accelerate the buzzing/humming mimics the engine's increasing rpm's. Ditto when decelerating. Also, there is a popping noise that appears in time with the turn signals. When I turn the volume up, the buzzing gets louder and it gets softer when I turn the volume down. Please, help! Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions for a solution?

Thanks,
-Chelle

Sounds like a ground loop problem. I would check the ground connection on the cd changer and maybe the one on the head unit. If you have extra amp(s) and such in the trunk check them too. The ground cable sizes and lengths are probably fine since it used to work, but be sure you have solid connections on both ends of all of them. All the power coming from the hot leads has to go somewhere. Anyway, that's where I would start.

I hope you figure it out.

--edit--

You can test the grounds by checking the continuity between the ground connection on the componant in question and the negative battery terminal.

This can also happen if you change out your spark plug wires. Some have a thin insulation on them and can cause you to hear a buzz or whine through your speakers that raises and lowers with your engine rpms.

If these methods don't work, I have completely redone my audio system, and this problem can also be caused by the power cables fromthe battery to amp, and the RCA cables form the disk changer being to close together, which would cause the interference and would be at fault for your buzzing getting louder. Cuz as the RPMs rise, more juice from the battery is needed, forcing more to the amp, and causing more interference. Hope I could be of some assistance -NICK
