3.1 Help!!!!

I have this posted in alot of places trying to get some help quickly, so don't be surprised if u see it more than once....

I got my 3.1 installed, bolted down, wired up....

I turned the key to fire her and she just turned and turned and would not crank.

I definitely have fuel, and spark.

Could this be my crank sensor? I pulled mine off of the old motor before i took it to the junkyard, but, i didn't think to replace it until tonight.

I do rmember when i heard it run at the junkyard, it was having problems turning over initially but ran fine....

What is the difference between the crank sensor behind the block and the one on the harmonic balancer?

Also, the plug that goes into the bottom of the oil is not the same as the plug that i have leftover.... The color of the plug wire on the pan is purple/yellow; the one i have left over is looks like a brown/gray(could be wrong, its pretty faded and oily).

What does this oil pan plug do anyway?

I hope i wasn't too lengthly.

Re: 3.1 Help!!!!

one is the 3x the other 24x they use two gm whatever the 24x is on the harmonic balancer 3x is the one on the block that sensor in the pan is either oil temp or oil level i forget but either way chances are the motor you bought had a different sensor (sensor has the same job) sometimes they change things mid model year changes etc ...now u have fuel press. +spark do you have injector pulse? should be able to hear one ping listening thru an extension held to your ear and rested on top of an injector (not the fuel rail but the top of the injector just clarifying)
