I do love the sr motors cause of there power. They are very good motors. I want to slap a turbo on the 240sx cause the motor is a 2.4 ltr. and i'm a fan of big motors. The Ka motor can handle up to 350-400 hp stock bottom end! I believe the sr motor can handle 325-350 stock! Both are good motors and it dose depend on what route you wanna go. Ka is the way I want to go for street applications.

for the cost of turbo kit for KA, I can get a whole S13 front end. So it doesnt make sense to turbo the stock motor. but if thats your thing, by all means go ahead.

if you were going to go civic I would definately go the 5g hatch/coupe route, 5g's can be had for alot cheaper and they are basically the same chasis as the 6g with some cosmestic and weight differences. I'm somewhat bias owning a 5g as far as what you don't like about it cosmetically can be changed via the aftermarket the majority of the time.

As far as the chasis having over 100k miles, pretty much any honda your going to pick up to mod your going to want to have high miles to decrease the price, the higher the better since your just going to replace the majority of the parts that wear out anyways ie. Engine/tranny, struts/springs, rotors (possible rear drum to rotor conversion), Motor mounts, tie rod bushings, paint, seats ...so on and so forth. So I think the whole basis of trying to get a low mileage car to mod is pretty stupid because when it comes right down to it your most likely going to improve everything but the chasis it self, and hell you might just do that !

btw, you all have me thinking about starting a 240 project !

Cant really say anything about 5th gen vs 6th gen, but since you are gonna swap out the motor anyway, you should consider trying to find a theft recovery and building that up, that way you dont have to deal with old parts and you can go as custom as you want to.

Don't forget the pain in the ass OBD is. 5th gen is OBDI and 6th gen is OBDII. You can get a 94-95 B18c1 for like 2950 at jdmclub.com because its OBDI.
